The Media Arts Center ("MAC Lab") contains sixteen Macintosh workstations, an isolation booth, and a full array of audio, video, and animation tools and software. The art and music programs share this facility, allowing for a variety of interdisciplinary collaborations. The Edit Suite is a cluster of Macintosh towers dedicated to high-end video editing and 3D animation rendering.
RELATED FACILITIES Babbio Atrium is a glassed-in area overlooking the Manhattan skyline. It is dedicated to exhibitions, performances, and special functions.
The Music & Technology Program is situated one floor below Art & Technology. It features a rich, contemporary blend of instruction including classic music theory, pop and electronic music, and post-production for the media industries. The state-of-the-art facilities feature both analog and digital instruments, from iGuitars and Pro-Tools to concert grand pianos. Collaborations between art and music majors are enthusiastically encouraged. DeBaun Auditorium is a recently renovated proscenium theater which serves the entire Stevens community under the auspices of the DeBaun Center for the Performing Arts. The auditorium has a mid-size stage and extensive lighting and sound capabilities, seating 480. It was built within the Edwin A. Stevens Hall designed by Civil War architect Richard Upjohn, famous for the design of Trinity Church in New York City (1846). Edwin A. Stevens' hall is a high Victorian Gothic style structure built ca. 1870. |
